How we find and organize Board Games to be included in our Curated Board Game Sets

The Search for the Right Board Game to Organize

Ever wonder how a board game earns its spot in our curated BitsBins Game Set collection? Spoiler alert: it’s not just a roll of the dice.

Every great BitsBins game set starts with a single question:
“Could this game be better with a little organization from BitsBins?”

Grant is always on the lookout for games that need help. You know the ones — they open up into an explosion of baggies, loose tokens, a bunch of different card types or a vague sense of dread about setup.

He's not just looking for games with a lot of stuff — he is looking for games that play better when the stuff is actually organized. Games where BitsBins can make setup faster, turns smoother, and cleanup less dreaded.

He looks for games that are both popular and fun to play.

Not every board game makes the cut

Once a game grabs his attention, he get curious.

  • Does it have a crappy or nonexistent insert?
  • Is there extra space in the game box to hold BitsBins?
  • Would BitsBins help with organization and setup/take down?

If the answer is yes — we’re all in.

How do we decide how to organize the game pieces?

Next, he learns how to play the game by reading the rule book and possibly watching YouTube videos. It's important that the organization makes sense to go along with how the game is played. As you can imagine this takes some time.

The last step is the actual organization phase, he gathers all of our different sized containers and starts trying out different setup options until all the components are neatly organized and it all fits nicely into the original game box.

Whew!

Then pictures are taken and it's posted on our website as a recommended game set

So if you’ve ever wondered how a game ends up in our curated section — that’s our process!

One game at a time with an opportunity to make game night feel a whole lot smoother.
